Spooky Spider Cupcakes (PKU)
Method
- Preheat the oven to 180C
- Cream the butter and sugar together in a large bowl. Add the baking powder and flour and mix to combine.
- Gradually stir in the milk and water until a thick liquid batter is formed. Keep stirring until you have a smooth consistency with no lumps.
- Line a cupcake tray and distribute the mixture between 6 medium-large cupcake cases.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the cake is golden brown. Test the cake batter by inserting a knife or cocktail stick into the centre. If it comes out clean, it’s ready.
- While the cupcakes are cooling, unravel each Bear Yo Yo and cut into 4cm long strips, then cut each strip in half vertically so that you have 2 thin “spider legs”. Repeat this for all the strips until you have 48 strips in total, 8 for each cupcake.
- Once cooled, pipe the frosting on top of each cupcake, then dip the frosted end into the sprinkles until completely covered.
- Carefully poke 8 of the Bear Yo Yo strands into the frosting, 4 on each side, and then carefully add 2 edible eyes to the front of each cupcake.
