Welcome to NOURISH, your new PKU Wellness Destination, dedicated to providing PKU individuals, parents and carers with actionable resources to improve their mental wellness and resilience. Each week we will release two new classes on mindfulness, meditation, sound and breath work, yoga and more. We are so glad you could join us!

A sound bath and chakra meditation, with crystal bowls played for each chakra during the guided meditation / visualisation practice.

A gentle breathwork and mindfulness practice to release stress and anxiety and engage the senses.

25. Morning energising yoga flow

A beginner friendly practice to start the day. Connecting to the body, quieting the mind and stretching the full body.

24. Balancing Nature Meditation

Participants are encouraged to be outside, preferably in nature for this meditation, but it can also be practiced from home. Starting with Nadi Shodhana breathwork to encourage calm and balance in the body and going into a nature visualisation / guided meditation.

23. Yoga for Self Love & Acceptance

A pressure free practice focused on how capable the body is, accepting ourselves as we are, and connecting to the heart centre and our love and compassion for self.

22. Yoga for Strength

A beginner friendly sequence focused on strengthening the arms and legs.

21. Lymphatic practice

A practice where we use a sequence of arm and leg movements combined with the breath to encourage flow in the lymphatic system.

A beginner friendly practice to build a strong but slow warrior flow encouraging presence and full body engagement.

19. Savasana and guided meditation for deep relaxation

Savasana and guided meditation for deep relaxation and calm, and engaging the parasympathetic nervous system.

18. Yin Yang Yoga

Yin Yang is a mixed sequence where we use vinyasa flow to create warmth in the body, before coming down into extended Yin holds for deep stretching and tension release.

A super slow and gentle flow to engage the full body.

16. Yoga and Affirmations

A chakra focused yoga practice with affirmations to accompany each chakra / posture.

15. Yoga for Balance

A beginner friendly flow focused on finding balance in the body and playing with different balancing postures without pressure.

14. Calming breathwork and gentle wind down stretch

This can be practiced from bed – a full body stretch from laying down, and some gentle breathwork for deep relaxation and sleep.

13. Shake off the dust

A Somatic practice where dancing and shaking the body engages the parasympathetic nervous system and encourages the release of tension and fogginess, for increased energy and feeling clear.

12. Complete stillness sound bath

After three grounding breaths, you’ll be invited to lie back, soften, and simply relax.

A series of postures that target the abdomen and digestive organs for digestion and comfort.

10. Spring Journaling Practice

A guided journalling and intention setting practice, as we come into the fresh and renewed energy of Spring.

9. Morning energising breath work and full body stretch

A full body stretch and Lions Breath technique to release tension and energise the body.

8. Yoga Nidra for restful sleep

A full body scan to encourage connection to the body/self and any sensations that may arise, before drifting into a Theta brainwave state – for deep rest.

7. Nature Walk Meditation

A gentle and brief full body stretch before connecting to the senses with nature sounds and sensory scanning – the participant can listen while walking or can treat this practice as a visualisation/meditation while at home.

6. Gentle breathwork and sound bath for deep relaxation

A deeply relaxing practice where after gentle breathing techniques to calm the nervous system, participants can lie back and enjoy the sound of crystal bowls, chimes and nature sounds.

5. Yoga for Alignment

A complete beginners practice to help each participant find their alignment in key yoga postures.

4. Yin Yoga for Relaxation & Mental Resilience

Yin is a deeply restorative practice, that targets the joints and connective tissues through long, supported holds. Pillow/cushion props will be required. Ideal for releasing stress and tension and building mental resilience.

3. Gratitude Visualisation & Journalling

Gratitude meditation / visualisation and accompanying journal exercise, for increased positivity.

2. Mindful eating practice

A gentle breathwork and mindfulness practice to release stress and anxiety. Coming into a relaxed state prior to eating reduces cortisol and aids the digestion of food.
